Pacific Gateway Programs
Pacific Gateway offers many flexible programs that are designed to meet your educational goals. Please note that the availability of certain programs and electives may be different at each campus. 

English Communication Program
Our English Communication Program will help you communicate effectively in English. You will learn how to use language structures and vocabulary in real life situations. This program builds all language skill areas  but with one very important key difference, it has a special focus on your real communicative ability. Strategies and policies are in place to make sure you not only learn the language but also know how to apply it.

  • Levels: Introductory – Advanced
  • Enrolment: Every session
  • Length: 1 – 17 sessions
  • Assessment: Every 4 weeks based on class content

TOEIC® Preparation Program
This program is designed to provide you with the strategies, practice and confidence required to improve your TOEIC® scores. Every session you will sit a test and be evaluated on your progress based on the result.

  • Level: Pre-Intermediate - Advanced
  • Enrolment: Every session
  • Length: 1 – 12 sessions
  • Assessment: Every 4 weeks based on class content
  • Topics: Familiarization with the format of the TOEIC® test, test strategies, practice tests with feedback and error correction, diagnosis of weak points in English to help students learn what they need to study to improve their TOEIC® scores.

IELTS® and Academic Preparation Program
If you are planning to enter a university or college or just want to improve your IELTS® score, Pacific Gateway’s IELTS® Program will help you with the skills you need to achieve your career goals.
You will have the opportunity to study authentic IELTS® questions from all sections of the test and receive error feedback and explanations.

  • Level: Intermediate - Advanced Plus
  • Enrolment: Every session
  • Length: 1 – 12 sessions
  • Assessment: Every 4 weeks based on class content
  • Topics: Practice tests, test strategies, writing development, listening exercises and skills, grammar practice, computer lab practice using IELTS® exams.

Cambridge Program
The Cambridge Program will prepare you to take the Cambridge First Certificate in English Examination (FCE) or the Cambridge Advanced Certificate (CAE) or the Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)

  • Level: Intermediate – Advanced Plus
  • Length: 3 sessions
  • Cambridge Program (FCE) Start Dates: January, March & September 
  • Assessment: you will sit the Cambridge test relevant to your course

Cambridge TKT (TESOL) Program
This course prepares you for a career teaching English and the Cambridge Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT). The Cambridge TKT is an internationally recognised introductory certificate in teaching English to speakers of other languages. You will learn a range of teaching techniques, theories and strategies, and adapt them to a variety of teaching contexts. The school also offers an optional practicum to complement classroom studies.

  • Level: Upper Intermediate – Advanced Plus
  • Length: 10 weeks
  • Start Dates: 4-5 times a year, see calendar or contact registrations
  • Assessment: you can choose to sit the Cambridge test relevant to your module. The course also has the same 4 week assessment as per all other Pacific Gateway courses as detailed in the assessment page.

Power Speaking Program
You can add power and effectiveness to your English communication skills by taking our Power Speaking Program. This program emphasizes dynamic fluency development.

  • Level: Intermediate, Advanced – Advanced Plus
  • Enrolment: Every session
  • Length: 1 – 6 sessions
  • Assessment: Every 4 weeks as per general assessment criteria
  • Topics: Gathering / presenting information; persuasion; problem solving; assertiveness skills training.

Business English Program
Pacific Gateway's Business English Program will prepare you for a variety of business situations. This program focuses on achieving practical skills for international business.

  • Level: Pre-Intermediate – Advanced
  • Enrolment: Every session
  • Length: 1 – 12 sessions
  • Assessment: every 4 weeks as per general assessment criteria
  • Topics: Working overseas; representing your company; developing business projects; business writing, presentation and negotiation skills; computer assisted research.

International Business Skills Program – English & Computers
Through a combination of our morning ESL program, intensive Microsoft Office Specialist® studies, TOEIC® electives and optional Assertiveness Skills training, this program will help you develop practical business skills.

  • Level: Intermediate – Advanced Plus
  • Length: 6 – 9 sessions
  • Assessment: Every 4 weeks as per general assessment criteria, the MOS test is optional
  • Topics: Developing fluency and building interpersonal communication skills for business situations; TOEIC® and computer skills; assertiveness skills training.

   VET Programs

   Pacific Gateway offers the following VET Programs:
